I will be adding links, resources, images, and the like, upgrading the former work-through which began with the 2013-10-12 posting which can be found, along with the full Genesis to Revelation postings, in the Archive Page. Postings will be at midnight Eastern Time, as I am able. However, no chapters will be skipped, even though a posting may be late. And all postings will be housed in the Archive Page. ] Explanation: In Job 25 Bildad accused Job for the third time. His accusation was very brief and was similar to ideas stated previously by others (Job 15:15; Job 4:17-19; Job 9:2; Job 15:14-16). This was the last thing Job's three friends said to Job. Zophar had nothing further to say and did not make a third accusation. Bildad begins his answer to Job by making a statement about the dominion and power of God in heaven (1-3a). And he states that God's light arises upon all who are upon the earth (3b), implying that they are dependent on him for the very light of day, thus establishing his dominion and power on earth, a well as in heaven. Bildad then presents his central thesis that man can be neither right with God nor pure before him (4). To amplify this point, he reasons by analogy, stating that neither the moon nor the stars are pure in God's eyes (5). And, says Bildad, man is even less pure. In the original Hebrew he compares him to a "worm" and a "maggot" (6). [ Sermons: Joseph Pipa. Various. ] Bile Chronologies -- Genesis to Revelation [Traditional Patriarchal Chronology. I have attempted to list conservative, scholarly resources. However, some providers use liberal or liberal-influenced commentaries such as the Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges (in Bible Hub). Such commentaries are undoubtedly included by the provider for the wealth of useful information and comments which they provide. By consulting several commentaries, it should be fairly easy to sort out the wheat from the chaff. If, however, you would like personal assistance, write to me at AD LIB ARTS EMAIL.
