Explanation: On Tuesday of the Passion Week, after Jesus answered the question of the Pharisees about paying tribute to Caesar, and the Sadducees question about the resurrection, a Pharisee who was a scribe (i.e., a lawyer) came to Jesus and asked him which was the greatest of all the commandments. Jesus told him that it was the commandment to love God and added that the second greatest commandment was to love your neighbor as yourself. The scribe agreed and noted that keeping these two commandments was greater than any and all sacrifices. Jesus told him, on the basis of that statement, that he was not far from the kingdom of God.
