Jesus Healing the Blind of Jericho (c. 1650)

Explanation: On his way to Jerusalem, Jesus approached Jericho where he healed two blind men. Mark and Luke concentrate on one man to the exclusion of the other; and one of the men, Bartimaeus, is identified by name by Mark. Both men who were healed glorified God, and both followed him.

Matthew 20:29-34; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 18:35-43 Mark 10:46 And they came to Jericho: and [Luke 18:35 nigh unto Jericho] as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people,] [Matthew 20:30 behold, two blind men sitting by the way side,] [Luke 18:35 a certain blind man (and)] [Mark 10:46 blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, begging.]
Luke 18:36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
Luke 18:37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passes by.
Matthew 20:30 (And) when they heard that Jesus passed by, (they) cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you Son of David.
[Mark 10:48 And many (of)] the multitude [Luke 18:39 which went before] rebuked [Mark 10:48 and charged] [Matthew 20:31 them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more] [Mark 10:48 a great deal,] saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, you Son of David.

Matthew 20:34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: [Luke 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive your sight: and immediately their eyes received sight,] [Mark 10:52 (and he said) Go your way;] your faith has saved you [Matthew 20:34 and they followed him] [Mark 10:52 in the way.]
Luke 18:43 glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
